Ian Marshall is the General Manager of the Transport Division at Mitchell Cotts Group with over 28 years of experience in the logistics industry, specifically in handling out-of-gauge transport, heavy lift, offloading, and positioning solutions in Eastern Africa.
He began his career as a Mechanical Technician and received training with Mercedes Benz. His impressive and relevant achievements include successfully removing 2 x 98 to Wartsila engines from aircraft at JKIA Nairobi and transporting and offloading them into IBERAFRICA Power Station Nairobi during the year 2000 power shortages in Kenya. In 2013, he received 10 x 88 ton Rolls Royce engines & 2 x 70 ton transformers from the port of Mombasa, transporting via Kisumu ferry to Mwanza Tanzania offloading & positioning into the power station for Semco Maritime. In 2014, he successfully handled the Ol Karia I & IV Geothermal Project for Kengen, transporting 4 x 141 generators and 4 x 100 ton transformers offloading and positioning the generators at 9.5m above ground level into the power house for Hyundai Engineering Company Korea.
Ian’s goals and aspirations for the company are for it to be the preferred heavy logistics provider in Eastern Africa. With his wealth of experience and expertise, he is well-positioned to lead the company towards achieving this goal.
