Abdul R. Bonaya

Abdul Razaaq Bonaya is the Head of Freight Forwarding at Mitchell Cotts Group. He is responsible for ensuring the timely and cost-effective delivery of consignments to their intended destinations by liaising with government agencies on behalf of clients. Abdul also provides import and export procedural solutions to both internal and external clients.

Before joining Mitchell Cotts Group, he worked as a Tax Authorities Relationship Manager at Bolloré Transport & Logistics Ltd. He began his career at the Kenya Revenue Authority in the Customs Services Department, where he progressed from a graduate trainee to an Assistant Commissioner. As an Assistant Commissioner, he was seconded to the World Customs Organization as a Regional Customs Expert in the East and Southern Africa Region for two years. Additionally, Abdul has served as a part-time instructor at the Kenya School of Revenue Administration (KESRA), teaching courses on Coordinated Border Management and Transport and Logistics to Master’s degree students specializing in Tax and Customs.

Abdul’s professional qualifications include a B.Com in Cost Accounting and an MBA in Marketing. He has also obtained various customs-related certificates. Furthermore, Abdul has contributed to the industry as a board member of the Kenya International Freight Forwarding and Warehousing Association (KIFWA), Nairobi Branch.
